How it's calculated
- Each price is the vendor's monthly list price on its own pricing page, checked September 30, 2026, before promotions and trials.
- Accountable uses the cheaper of Pro ($149 for 2 companies, $49 for each extra) and Holding ($399 for 10, $29 for each extra). Yearly is the annual plan, which costs 10 months.
- Kick Plus is $100 a month; each extra entity is free for its first 250 transactions a year, then $50, and the calculator assumes every extra company passes 250.
- Digits Core, Puzzle Complete, QuickBooks Plus, Xero Growing and Zeni Starter are charged once per company. Xero Growing is $59 from October 1, 2026 ($55 before).
- Pilot, Bench and Mercury Books publish a price for one company only, so they appear only when you pick 1.
Questions founders ask
What is the cheapest accounting software for multiple businesses?
At list price, Xero Growing is cheapest per company at $59 a month, and Kick Plus is cheapest if your extra companies each stay under 250 transactions a year. Accountable Pro is $198 for three companies with a combined view, and Holding is $399 for ten.
Does QuickBooks charge per company?
Yes. Each company needs its own QuickBooks Online subscription, so three companies on Plus cost $420 a month.
Are these prices with discounts?
No. They are list prices. QuickBooks offers 50% off for 3 months and Xero a lower price for 6 months to new customers, and both return to list price afterwards.
Why is Zeni so much more?
Zeni is a bookkeeping service with a finance team, not software alone. Its Starter plan is $549 a month per business, or $494 billed annually.
