What each role can do

Owner does everything, Admin runs the books and the team without billing, Member works the books, Accountant is your outside CPA with a free seat, and Viewer reads.

Steps

  1. Step 1: Open Settings › Members and roles.

  2. Step 2: Press What each role can do to see the full table.

  3. Step 3: Click a person and change their Role.

The roles

  • Owner: everything, including billing and reopening closed months.
  • Admin: runs the books and the team. No billing.
  • Controller: your finance lead; can reopen months. Holding plan.
  • Member: reads and works the books.
  • Accountant: your outside accountant. Full access to the books, closes months. Free seat.
  • Treasury: reads everything and approves payments; can't change the books. Holding plan.
  • Viewer: reads the books and reports. Free seat.
  • Auditor: invited from Accounting › Audit for a sample. Free seat.

Good to know

  • Only the owner manages billing, company security and approval rules.
  • Owners and admins invite and manage members.
