A transaction shows up twice

Imports skip duplicates they recognize, and Alerts flags likely duplicate charges. If one still slips through, check whether it is a transfer, then ask Melinda to remove it.

Steps

  1. Step 1: Check Alerts for a duplicate alert and answer it.

  2. Step 2: Otherwise open Transactions, filter to the vendor and amount, and compare dates and accounts.

  3. Step 3: If both came from the same account, ask Melinda with the two dates and amounts: she checks the feed and the statement and removes the extra one with you.

  4. Step 4: If the same payment came through two accounts (like a card and the bank paying the card), it's a transfer: categorize it as one.

Good to know

  • A charge that really happened twice is a question for the vendor: answer the alert Yes, flag for refund.
