Move your books from Puzzle
In Puzzle, open Downloads and export General Ledger (detail) as CSV with the Chart of Accounts, then upload both to Accountable's move.
Steps
Step 1: In Puzzle, open the Downloads page.
Step 2: Choose General Ledger (detail), pick your basis (Cash or Accrual) and download it as CSV. It holds every journal entry.
Step 3: On the same page, download Chart of Accounts.
Step 4: If you want a faster proof, also download the trial balance and year-end statements from Downloads.
Step 5: In Accountable, press ⌘K and choose Move books from Digits, QuickBooks or a spreadsheet. Pick Move my books, choose Puzzle under From and press Continue.
Step 6: On Bring your old books, drop the file on Drop your general ledger here, or choose a file. Add the chart of accounts and bank statements too if you have them.
Step 7: Press Start the move. You can leave the page; the move keeps going.
Step 8: Answer each question that appears, then press Continue and Go live.
What Accountable does with the file
- Reads every entry, account and vendor, and rebuilds your chart of accounts and history in a draft. Nothing is in your books until you press Go live.
- Checks every month-end, account by account, against your old tool's own numbers and your bank and card statements. A month ties only when the difference is exactly $0.00.
- Asks you about each month that doesn't tie, one question at a time, with the fix it suggests.
- Lets you undo the whole move for 30 days after you go live.
Good to know
- Puzzle recommends CSV for moving to another tool.
- Puzzle's docs don't give exact date-range steps for its trial balance download, so check that its dates cover your last month-end.
