Move your books from Kick
In Kick, open Accounting › General Ledger, set the date range to your whole history and download it as .xlsx, with the trial balance by month for the proof.
Steps
Step 1: In Kick, go to Accounting › General Ledger. It opens on Last year, so set the date range to your whole history.
Step 2: Pick Cash or Accrual from the ledger basis menu.
Step 3: Click the download button at the top right to get an .xlsx file.
Step 4: For the proof, go to Accounting › Trial Balance, choose By month in the column picker, and download it as .xlsx.
Step 5: Download the chart of accounts from Accounting the same way.
Step 6: In Accountable, press ⌘K and choose Move books from Digits, QuickBooks or a spreadsheet. Pick Move my books, choose Kick under From and press Continue.
Step 7: On Bring your old books, drop the file on Drop your general ledger here, or choose a file. Add the chart of accounts and bank statements too if you have them.
Step 8: Press Start the move. You can leave the page; the move keeps going.
Step 9: Answer each question that appears, then press Continue and Go live.
What Accountable does with the file
- Reads every entry, account and vendor, and rebuilds your chart of accounts and history in a draft. Nothing is in your books until you press Go live.
- Checks every month-end, account by account, against your old tool's own numbers and your bank and card statements. A month ties only when the difference is exactly $0.00.
- Asks you about each month that doesn't tie, one question at a time, with the fix it suggests.
- Lets you undo the whole move for 30 days after you go live.
Good to know
- When your workspace shows a direct Kick connection, Accountable reads the books and brings your Kick rules as drafts: press Turn on N rules after you go live.
- With several Kick entities, Accountable asks Which Kick entity is this company?
