Move your books from Zeni
Zeni runs your books in QuickBooks Online Plus. Ask Zeni to transfer master admin of that file to you, then export the General Ledger from QuickBooks and upload it.
Before you start
- Export before your Zeni subscription ends: after that, access to Zeni's own data ends.
Steps
Step 1: Ask Zeni to transfer master admin of your QuickBooks Online file to you. Zeni's terms say it will try to when the subscription ends.
Step 2: Sign in to QuickBooks Online and follow Move your books from QuickBooks Online to export the General Ledger and Account List.
Step 3: If Zeni sent you reports instead, upload its General Ledger, Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss exports, one file each.
Step 4: In Accountable, press ⌘K and choose Move books from Digits, QuickBooks or a spreadsheet. Pick Move my books, choose Zeni under From and press Continue.
Step 5: On Bring your old books, drop the file on Drop your general ledger here, or choose a file. Add the chart of accounts and bank statements too if you have them.
Step 6: Press Start the move. You can leave the page; the move keeps going.
Step 7: Answer each question that appears, then press Continue and Go live.
What Accountable does with the file
- Reads every entry, account and vendor, and rebuilds your chart of accounts and history in a draft. Nothing is in your books until you press Go live.
- Checks every month-end, account by account, against your old tool's own numbers and your bank and card statements. A month ties only when the difference is exactly $0.00.
- Asks you about each month that doesn't tie, one question at a time, with the fix it suggests.
- Lets you undo the whole move for 30 days after you go live.
Good to know
- Zeni has no public help center, so these steps come from Zeni's terms and FAQ. If you get stuck, we'll move you for free.
