Connect Brex with a read-only user token

Before you start

• You're an account admin or card admin in Brex.

Steps

1. 1

   Step 1: In Accountable, open Connections (Settings › Banks, cards and payroll), press Connect an account and pick Brex. The dialog Use a Brex user token opens.

   Step 2: Sign in at dashboard.brex.com and go to Developer › Settings. Accept the developer terms if Brex asks.

   Step 3: Click Create Token and name it Accountable.

   Step 4: Give it read-only access to Transactions, Accounts and Statements, for cards and for cash if you use a Brex business account. Leave everything that writes off.

   Step 5: Click Allow Access and copy the token. It starts with bxt_ and Brex shows it only once.

   Step 6: Back in Accountable, paste it into User token and press Connect.

The read-only scopes

• transactions.card.readonly, accounts.card.readonly and statements.card.readonly for cards.
• transactions.cash.readonly, accounts.cash.readonly and statements.cash.readonly for a Brex business account.

Good to know

• A Brex token expires after 90 days without use. Accountable syncs every day, which keeps it alive.
• If the Brex business (cash) account doesn't appear, upload its statements from Connections › Import file.
