Connect Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor to your books
Add Accountable's MCP server to your AI app in a minute, and decide what it may change on its own.
- What connecting Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor doesAccountable runs an MCP server at accountable.im/mcp. Connect your AI app to it and the app can read your books and, on paid plans, change them within the limits you set.
- Connect Claude to your booksIn Claude, open Settings › Connectors, add a custom connector with https://accountable.im/mcp, then sign in to Accountable and press Allow. It works in Claude.ai, Claude Desktop and Claude Code.
- Connect ChatGPT to your booksIn ChatGPT, turn on Developer mode under Settings › Apps & Connectors › Advanced, create a connector with https://accountable.im/mcp and OAuth, then sign in to Accountable and press Allow.
- Connect Cursor to your booksAdd Accountable to ~/.cursor/mcp.json with the URL https://accountable.im/mcp. Cursor opens Accountable's sign-in page the first time it connects.
- Choose what an agent may change: Guardrails or Full controlGuardrails applies an agent's changes at once but holds big entries, reopening months and anything sent outside the company for you. Full control applies everything your role allows.
- Create a personal access token for scripts and other MCP clientsFor a CLI, a script or an MCP client without sign-in, create a personal access token in Settings › AI and agents and send it as a Bearer token.
- See what an agent did, or disconnect itEvery agent change is logged under the app and your name. Undo any of them, or revoke the connection in Settings › AI and agents.
- Use the API and webhooksAccountable's REST API lives at /v1 with an OpenAPI spec. Owners and admins add webhook endpoints in Settings › Developers.
